4-H Summer Education & Outreach Intern Position Available
Marathon County 4-H, Wisconsin
Internship information: This position will be dedicated to working with a team to lead the 4-Clubs
program, 4-H Summer Day Camps, assist at Marathon County 4-H Junior Camp and the Wisconsin Valley
Fair, and carrying out other 4-H activities as assigned. The interns will be responsible for
teaching 4-H club programs to youth in grades K-4. (The work is done in a team situation, with
three interns working together.) The programs are typically held at elementary schools and
community programs in the Wausau area. Expect to work approximately 30 to 40 hours per week, with
most hours occurring Monday through Friday (occasional weekends and nights).
The desired qualifications include: Experience as a 4-H member; experience working with elementary
school children; enthusiasm for youth work; successful completion of some college level credits. In
addition, work toward a degree in youth programs, education, psychology, agriculture, family and
consumer education, or related field is beneficial. This limited term position will begin May
31st and continue through mid-August. It is funded through the 4-H Leader’s Federation.
Compensation for this position is paid on an hourly basis.
All applicants must: Successfully pass a background check and be willing to complete the 4-H leader
orientation process; be 18 years old as of May 26, 2017; hold a valid driver’s license; and have
