4-H CLOVERBUDS

The purpose of the Cloverbud program is to support the positive development of children in grades K-2 by providing experiences that can help them build self-esteem, creativity, explore the world around them and learn social skills. Cloverbuds is noncompetitive and recognition is given to everyone because children at this age have a hard time handling losing. Cloverbuds is activity centered and leader directed.

Marathon County Cloverbud Opportunities:

  • Camp Susan: an overnight camping experience for grades K-4. Campers have fun participating in nature hikes, arts & crafts, recreation, and campfire!
  • Cloverbud Explorer Day: coordinated by the 4-H summer interns. Youth spend the morning making crafts and playing games.
  • Clothing Revue: Youth sew and model a garment for the fair. They get the experience of talking about what they did with a qualified judge.
  • Foods Revue: Youth prepare a nutritious snack and display their snack for a judge. Cloverbuds learn about nutrition and how to prepare a snack by themselves.
  • Pre-fair Music/Drama/Dance: Cloverbuds prepare and perform for a judge. Through this opportunity they gain confidence in performing in front of people and have the chance to try different forms of music, drama and/or dance.
  • Cake Revue:  Cloverbuds learn creativity and cake decorating skills and speak to a qualified judge about their experience.
