OCTOBER

October 13 — Nutrient Management Update Session (Wausau Location)
This free session will be 1:00-3:00 PM at Conference Room #5, 212 River Drive, Wausau. Attendees will learn current nutrient management regulations, producer compliance, and related environmental issues. Conservation officials will be on hand to give an overview of the regulations and their perspective on compliance. There will also be an overview of the DATCP-approved Nutrient Management Training Series being offered to producers in Marathon, Clark, Taylor, Lincoln, and Price Counties. This session also serves as Class #1 for DATCP-approved classes to develop qualified Nutrient Management Plans in the 5-county area. October 13 — Nutrient Management Update Session (Spencer Location)
This free session will be 7:30-9:30 PM at Room S101/103 NTC, Spencer. This is a repeat of the same program held in Wausau earlier that day.

October 14 — Nutrient Management Update Session (Medford Location)
This free session will be 7:30-9:30 PM at Room M110/112 NTC, Medford. This is a repeat of the same program held in Spencer the previous day.

October 30 — Marathon County Holstein Breeders Awards Banquet
Thursday, October 30 at 8:00 p.m. at the Rib River Ballroom in Marathon.


NOVEMBER

November 13 — PDF file WI Pest Management Update Meeting (2 pages, 27 KB)
Eight Wisconsin Pest Management Meetings have been scheduled for this fall....with one in our area on November 13 at the Belvedere Supper Club, Marshfield. Presentations will include pest management and biology information for Wisconsin field crops. Speakers will include Eileen Cullen or Bryan Jensen, entomologists, Paul Esker, plant pathologist, Mark Renz and Chris Boerboom, weed scientists. The $30 registration fee per participant includes a noon meal and information packet.


DECEMBER

December 10 — Arlington Dairy Day
8:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. This event is an opportunity for dairy producers and service industry professionals to learn how University research can help them to increase dairy herd profitability, health and productivity. Arlington Dairy Day is sponsored by the UW-Extension Dairy Team and the UW-Madison Department of Dairy Science. The program showcases the latest dairy-related research findings from various departments of the UW-Madison College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.


JANUARY

January 13 — Marathon County Holstein Breeders Annual Meeting
The annual meeting will be at the Rib River Ballroom in Marathon, meeting starts at noon. Elections will be held.
