AGRICULTURE INFORMATION & STAFF
Marathon County has
long been one of Wisconsin’s premier agricultural counties.
Although the diversity of agriculture encompasses enterprises
such as Christmas trees, ginseng, grain crops, and meat animals,
the predominant enterprise is dairy. In fact, in January 1999,
Dairy Today magazine ranked Marathon County as the best place
in America to dairy! Read the
Dairy Today magazine article >>>
Agriculture also makes
an important economic contribution to the county. Recently, UW
Specialists compiled and analyzed the latest data and found an
annual economic impact of more than $1.25 billion in Marathon
County alone from the on-farm and ag processing sectors. Find
