Dealing with a
Drop in Income
Sometimes a household’s income drops suddenly because of a
job layoff, an illness or death, or a divorce. It’s natural to feel
shocked or panicked or to want to ignore the situation. As hard as it is, you need to let your creditors know about your
financial situation. Some of your creditors may be willing to work
with you during a rough patch if you’re honest with them and
contact them before you miss any payments. No matter how bad your situation might be, ignoring your worries
won’t make them go away. Dealing with a Drop in Income (8 pages, 191 KB)

Food Safety Tips for Seniors: What to Keep, What to Toss
A lot has changed over your lifetime — including the way food is produced and distributed. It used to be that food was produced close to where people lived. Many people shopped daily, and prepared and ate their food at home. Eating in restaurants was saved for special occasions. Today, food in your local grocery store comes from all over the world. And nearly 50 percent of the money we spend on food goes to buy food that others prepare, like "carry out" and restaurant meals. Food Safety Tips for Seniors (4 pages, 277 KB) |

“Who Gets Grandma's Yellow Pie Plate” and End of Life Planning
Do you have personal possessions that you treasure and want to pass on? Do you know how you plan to do so? Many people assume that if they have a will that the dispersing of their personal belongings after they are gone will go smoothly. This is not always true. Many people do not put personal items that might or might not have a monetary value into a will and this often causes family strife when it comes to dispersing those items which is called ‘non-titled property transfer’. Come join us to talk about methods to distribute those items such as; guns, dolls, books, dishes, pictures, etc. The program includes a workbook for you to take with you to work through the decision process of dispersing family belongings. If interested please contact
Jackie Carattini at (715) 261-1242.
