The Central Wisconsin 4-H Shooting Sports season is about to begin! The 4-H Shooting Sports program teaches youth lifelong skills in a safe and friendly learning environment. We focus on safety and responsible use of firearms and archery equipment, but never forget the fun!
The orientation meeting is set for Sunday, December 3rd, 2017 at the Central Wisconsin Sportsmen’s Club, 11841 Stadt Rd., Marshfield. An open house will begin at noon, allowing youth and their families to talk with instructors, browse equipment, and become familiar with the facility. The official meeting will begin at 1:00. Meeting attendance is required. This is how you register for the program and select the best practice times for your family. There will be six practices from January through March for archery, rifle, and pistol. Shotgun practices will be held during June and July.
Archery, air rifle, air pistol, .22 rifle, .22 pistol, and shotgun instruction are all available. Participants are not required to own their own equipment. The program has loaner and rental equipment available.
This program is open to 4-H youth members in Wood, Clark, and Marathon Counties that are at least 8 years old and in 3rd grade. To participate in powder-burning activities, youth must be at least 12 years old and be graduates of hunter safety.
